In my search for something bold and innovative, I stumbled across the website for New York based company Good Wood, which makes hip hop inspired necklaces, two finger rings, and earrings out of wood:
Best part--most of their pieces are under $25. Recession-proof accessories ftw. What's your take on it though? Would you actually buy anything from here?

Hot Kicks: Nike Blazer Swoosh Life
I had to write about these the moment I saw these. I love the overall simplicity. I hate that a lot of recent colorways incorporate too many colors or strange fabric combinations to be innovative. The combination here is simple--lots of unassuming colors, like black, white, and gum--until you see this coral swoosh. Granted, I love the color coral and am biased, but I couldn't imagine any color that would be bold and different, while being so much of the same. Also, peep the coral laces in the background--fire. Too bad, Nike has yet to put a release date on these unfortunately, so I'll be waiting patiently until then FTL.
What do you think about them? Not as sold on them as I am?

Hot New Brand: Rich Wierdo
Now that school is finally over and I'm getting used to being back home in New York, I can get back to blogging about the fly things I've encountered in the last few months.
For starters, I'm low-key obsessed with this new brand I found yesterday called Rich Wierdo.
Like most of today's popular t-shirt brands, they have some tees with funny phrases, like the "Who Wants To Be A Regular?" tee.
My personal faves, however, would either be the "Wild Africa" tee or the "Digital Nerd" tee.
They even have some fly tees for the ladies, with the "Rich Girls Party Hard" and "What Are You Looking At?" tees.
For those in the NYC area, you can cop some of these tees at Swagga 360, Pieces, and Vinnie Styles in Brooklyn. An online store is also coming soon at www.richwierdo.com.
Would you rock Rich Wierdo?

The Death of Swagger (and all its Derivatives)
BPM: FTL (for the loss) on this one. It's well known that when a popular term in Black Culture hits mainstream media markets... it's no longer COOL..... Especially if it's used on CNN and MOST DEFINITELY if it's used to talk about our Black President. I've been tired of the words Swag, Swagger, Swagga, and all that otha shit ANYWAYS... hopefully this is the catalyst for it's downfall... in fact I guarantee it :)
Artist Spotlight: MIKE POSNER= FTW + Videos
Brief Biography:
Mike Posner & the Brain Trust is one of the most highly anticipated new groups of 2009. Twenty-one year-old Mike Posner of Southfield, Michigan, first surfaced as a vocalist at the age of seventeen when he was featured several times on Detroit's 102.7 FM. As the brainchild behind some of Big Sean's (Island Def Jam/GOOD) best tracks, Posner has proved himself to be a talented producer. Mike and his live band, the Brain Trust, have developed a unique and refreshing sound somewhere between the realms of pop and hip-hop. On March 1st 2009, Mike released his first mixtape, A Matter of Time, with DJ Benzi and Don Cannon and has since received critical acclaim and attention from every major record label.
